US-based technology solutions provider for foodservice firms Powerhouse Dynamics has enhanced its equipment and energy management solution with a new release, Open Kitchen by SiteSage.

In April this year, Middleby acquired Powerhouse Dynamics to create a single comprehensive solution.

Open Kitchen is an internet of things (IoT-based) platform that integrates the features of SiteSage Smart Kitchen and Middleby Connect in a single platform.

The platform is designed to offer remote access to critical data and performance monitoring by connecting commercial kitchen equipment to the cloud.

New features include a recipe creation hub and remote recipe distribution function; expanded predictive analytics to the equipment component level; enhanced data security; and addition of language support for international implementations.

The company has also expanded the integration layer to facilitate multiple methods of connectivity, as well as support rapid integration with additional brands.

Using the new solution, foodservice operators can have a single view across all locations and all equipment.

Leveraging the new solution, operators can optimise equipment performance and facility operations, as well as deliver lower operating costs, reduced equipment downtime and ensure food safety and product quality.

New features added as part of the upgrade also allows companies to create revenue-generating opportunities.

Powerhouse Dynamics president Martin Flusberg said: “With Open Kitchen, we are creating a new standard for IoT-based solutions in the commercial kitchen market.

“Operators want a single view into all of their locations; they don’t want to login to a different system for each piece of equipment.

“Open Kitchen connects equipment from virtually any brand and brings all that critical information together so customers can make swift and data-driven performance decisions. Open Kitchen opens up endless possibilities for optimal efficiency.”
