UK-based sandwich and coffee chain Pret A Manger has opened a new outlet at the Index Mall in Dubai, according to a report by Time Out Dubai.

Pret A Manger has stated that it plans to open another outlet later this month at the Bay Avenue Mall shopping centre.

According to the World Coffee Portal website, the café brand, known for its sandwiches, soups, salads and wraps, plans to open three more outlets in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this year.

Once opened, Pret A Manger will have a total of eight outlets in the UAE.

The new restaurants will join the other Pret A Manger branches located at Dubai International Airport and DIFC’s Marble Walk.

The coffee and food-to-go chain forayed into the UAE market in 2016.

The Caterer Middle East quoted Pret A Manger’s Asia managing director Eira Jarvis as saying: “Since we launched Pret in Dubai, the response has been incredible, so opening these new shops is a natural next step as we continue growing to meet demand from Pret fans across the city.

“From office coffee runs to pit stops for breakfast, lunch, or snacks, we’re excited to be bringing our freshly made food and organic coffee to even more people.”

In July 2022, Pret A Manger partnered with Indian retail firm Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) to enter India’s restaurant segment.

In April this year, the BBC reported that the restaurant company had opened its first location in the Indian financial hub of Mumbai.
