Software company Revalize has expanded its foodservice equipment and supplies (FES) portfolio with the acquisition of KCL, a software provider for commercial foodservice design.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

KCL offers design and sales software to FES designers and manufacturers to customise their commercial kitchen layouts.

The company provides the foodservice designers with access to a library of computer-aided design (CAD) blocks and Revit families, which is a library of building information modelling (BIM) templates.

Some of KCL’s solutions include the BIM/CAD Designer, which allows users to search, view and download CAD blocks and Revit families for designs. Another solution is KCL’s NapkinSketch, which allows users to design without running a CAD or Revit programme.

Revalize, a portfolio company of TA Associates and Hg, expects the acquisition to improve manufacturers’ abilities to configure, price and quote its CPQ offerings with KCL’s robust design tools.

In a press statement, Revalize said: “Through the acquisition, KCL’s design customers will find it even easier to design and customize kitchen layouts by staying in one system and using AQ to easily configure and buy products. Meanwhile, manufacturers can easily list design files and configure, price and quote on the streamlined, integrated solution from Revalize.”

Revalize said it plans to connect designers and manufacturers in one streamlined solution comprising the KCL’s AutoQuotes (AQ) catalogue and CPQ software.

Revalize CEO Mike Sabin said: “We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of KCL. It further strengthens our already market-leading capabilities within the foodservice industry.

“This addition continues to expand our global footprint and bolsters our commitment to reshaping the world of manufacturing software across industries. KCL’s robust design tools complement Revalize’s current offerings by bringing FES designers and manufacturers closer together with one streamlined solution.”

KCL president and founder Kevin Kochman said: “By combining forces with AQ Revalize, KCL has increased the opportunities to fulfil our brand promise of helping people work more efficiently.”
