American fast casual restaurant chain Shake Shack has signed a partnership with online food-ordering and delivery marketplace GrubHub.

As part of the deal, Grubhub and its Seamless brand will serve as national delivery partners for Shake Shack. They will also make direct-to-POS integration for menu syncing and order submission.

The restaurant chain is currently testing the delivery service at limited number of locations.

Customers can place orders for a range of menu items including ShackBurger, Chick’n Shack, frozen custard shakes and crinkle cut fries.

Delivery executives will ensure faster deliveries by leveraging Grubhub’s ‘Just in Time’ technology.

In addition, the deal will allow Shake Shack to analyse performance and ordering trends using enhanced tools and connect with guests in new and more personalised ways.

Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti said: “Over the last fifteen years, we’ve built our brand around creating community gathering places and becoming the next generation’s burger joint.

“Our partnership with Grubhub is a reflection of our commitment to expanding that connected community through our increasing number of digital products, and our relentless focus on providing both convenience and excellence in experience through those digital offerings.

“The Shake Shack-Grubhub partnership demonstrates our strategic commitment to digital innovation and guest experience, and represents an important component in our overall digital ecosystem, including web-ordering, mobile app, kiosk and delivery.”

The fast casual chain is also planning to expand the service gradually across the US in the next two to three quarters.

Established in 2004, Shake Shack currently operates more than 240 locations in 28 US States and the District of Columbia, as well as London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Mexico, Istanbul, Dubai, Tokyo, Moscow, Seoul and more.
