French food services and facilities management company Sodexo has renewed its catering contract with Quaerere Academy Trust in Sandwell, West Midlands, UK.
Worth £2.8m, the renewed contract will be valid for the next five years. The contract is for Sodexo’s new school food brand called Food & Co by Sodexo.

It follows the recent announcements of new contracts with Wellspring Academy Trust and ESSL (Education Services Swindon Ltd) in Swindon.
Quaerere multi-academy trust includes two secondary schools both with sixth form provision- Q3 Academy Great Barr and Q3 Academy Langley, including the Grace Payne Aspiration Centre.
Student numbers at Q3 Academy Langley are expected to increase to 1,500 over the course of the contract, according to Sodexo.
As part of the contract, the schools will benefit from Sodexo’s new modern school food and dining room offer, ‘Food & Co by Sodexo’, which has been developed after a research with pupils in key stages 2, 3 and 4 (aged seven to 16).

Additionally, the trust will gain from capital investment, funded by Sodexo to refresh and expand their catering facilities to better meet the needs of students.
Sodexo UK and Ireland schools managing director Matt Garner said: “We are delighted to have retained this contract and look forward to building on our relationship with the rollout of our new school food offer, Food & Co by Sodexo.”
At present, Sodexo works with more than 125 state schools and has more than ten years’ experience in offering integrated facilities services to schools across the UK and Ireland.
