Stonegate Group has announced plans to open a retro football-themed sports bar, Golaccio, in Huddersfield, UK, on 3 May 2024, following a £100,000 refurbishment.

The venue, formerly known as Venn St Social, has undergone a comprehensive rebranding and refurbishment to offer an Italian-inspired sports experience.

The venue’s interior has been redesigned to include classic football shirts, scarves and posters from iconic Italian clubs, stadium artwork and location posters.

The sports bar has been upgraded with four new large TV screens and a pull-down projector.

“Golaccio is an ode to a 1990s love affair with Italian football and it’s a huge endorsement that Stonegate believed in the concept to help me bring it to Huddersfield. The Golaccio team is looking forward to welcoming the community and visitors back to the venue. All are welcome!”

Last month, Stonegate Group reopened the Plough pub in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, following a significant refurbishment.

The pub has been overhauled with a six-figure investment from Craft Union.

It features a new range of beers, including brands such as Birra Moretti, Amstel, Peroni, Wingman and Cruzcampo.
