Subway Canada has launched a new range of pre-set sandwiches called the Fresh Fit Menu.
Available across Canada, each sandwich in the new range contains at least 21g of protein and fewer than 500 calories.

Subway Canada also states that the sandwiches are made to order on six-inch multigrain bread and include Canadian cheddar cheese.
The five sandwiches on the menu are Fresh Fit Rotisserie-Style Chicken, Fresh Fit Turkey, Fresh Fit Sweet Onion Teriyaki, Fresh Fit Steak & Cheese and Fresh Fit Tuna.
The restaurant company said that the Fresh Fit Rotisserie-Style Chicken provides 30g of protein and includes rotisserie-style chicken with cheddar cheese, vegetables and mayonnaise.
The Fresh Fit Turkey contains 21g of protein and is made with sliced turkey breast, cheddar cheese, vegetables and mayonnaise.

By GlobalDataOn the other hand, the Fresh Fit Sweet Onion Teriyaki is listed at 28g of protein and includes teriyaki-glazed chicken strips with cheddar, lettuce, vegetables and Sweet Onion Teriyaki sauce.
The Fresh Fit Steak & Cheese (26g of protein) includes shaved steak with cheddar, vegetables and chipotle sauce while the Fresh Fit Tuna (24g) of protein and features wild-caught tuna blended with mayonnaise, served with cheddar and vegetables.
Subway Canada linked the launch to stated consumer interest in higher-protein options and referenced survey results from Subway Canada and The Harris Poll. According to the survey, 69% of Canadians plan to eat more protein this year.
Subway Canada Culinary manager Chef John Botelho, who created the Fresh Fit menu, said: “We wanted to spotlight the incredible protein on our menu and bring it together with delicious veggies and bold flavours.
“The Fresh Fit menu is about providing Canadians with convenient, delicious options built for everyday life at an affordable price point.”
