US fast-casual restaurant chain Sweetgreen has unveiled its first-ever Korean-inspired menu.

The new limited-time KBBQ menu, created in partnership with Michelin-starred COTE Korean Steakhouse, will be launched on 13 May 2025.

The menu will include a variety of new ingredients in dishes such as KBBQ-glazed steak, apple kimchi sauce, cucumber kimchi and pickled cabbage, delivering an authentic Korean dining experience to Sweetgreen’s customers.

It will feature three distinctive entrées that incorporate Sweetgreen’s commitment to fresh, healthy ingredients with the culinary expertise of COTE.

The KBBQ Steak Bowl offers grass-fed steak with a KBBQ glaze, accompanied by romaine lettuce, white rice, apple kimchi sauce, spicy roasted broccoli, cucumber kimchi and pickled cabbage.

The KBBQ Steak Plate pairs the glazed steak with cucumber kimchi, white rice and tangy pickled cabbage, and little spice.

Sweetgreen co-founder and chief concept officer Nicolas Jammet stated: “Korean barbecue is all about connection — sharing food, stories and moments around the table. That spirit of community is something we deeply value at Sweetgreen, and it’s what makes this collaboration with our friends at COTE so exciting. By bringing together our fresh, high-quality ingredients with the bold and vibrant flavours of Korean BBQ, we’re offering an experience that’s more than just a meal.”

Sweetgreen seeks to build healthier communities by connecting people to real food. The restaurant chain is currently present in more than 250 locations across the US.

In April 2025, Sweetgreen named Jason Cochran as its new chief operating officer.
