Indian food delivery platform Swish has raised $24m in a funding round led by Bertelsmann India Investments (BII), with further backing from existing investors Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, and Hara Global.

Swish will allocate the newly secured capital towards scaling its kitchen footprint, developing supply chain infrastructure, and increasing capacity to meet rising consumer order volumes.

The platform plans to expand its kitchen network in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, as well as enter new cities. It aims to build a network of more than 1,000 kitchens over the next five years.

Swish operates as a vertically integrated food delivery platform, where it controls kitchens, technology and last-mile delivery.

The operating model is centred on creating a high-density neighbourhood kitchen network that can prepare fresh meals for distribution within an average 1km radius.

In the past six months, the platform extended its presence across Bangalore, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Noida.

The company noted that since March, monthly transactions on the platform have tripled, with order volumes now exceeding one million per month.

Swish co-founder and CEO Aniket Shah said: “Swish is innovating next-gen automated kitchen infrastructure to cook fresh food and enable a format of food delivery: faster, tastier, and more affordable for the end consumer.

“The business has grown multifold rapidly to over a million orders a month while barely covering 50 PIN codes today. We’re seeing strong consumer love for Swish, with over 80% of orders delivered under 15 minutes.

“Excited to partner with the Bertelsmann team on this journey of becoming India’s favourite food delivery platform.”
