Fast-casual US restaurant chain Sweetgreen has announced that it is testing its new Caramelised Garlic Steak at 22 participating locations in Boston, Massachusetts.

The limited-edition menu item is part of a broader offering that includes the Steakhouse Chopped Bowl and Kale Caesar Steak Salad, all featuring the new protein.

Caramelised Garlic Steak combines wild rice, roasted sweet potatoes, spicy broccoli, arugula [rocket] and balsamic vinaigrette.

The Steakhouse Chopped Warm Bowl is another addition, blending quinoa, crispy onions, blue cheese and Sweetgreen’s signature Green Goddess ranch dressing.

For those who prefer a classic with a twist, the Kale Caesar Steak Salad features the chain’s Caesar dressing, kale, romaine, parmesan crisps and a hint of lemon.

Sweetgreen’s new dish is made with grass-fed sirloin steak, which is complemented by a blend of slow-roasted caramelised garlic and onions.
