Swensons Drive-In is set to roll out the Flybuy AI-powered location platform across its sites to improve collection operations for online orders and delivery drivers.

The drive-in restaurant chain offers a kerbside service where each parked car functions as a dining space, with servers delivering food directly to vehicles.

This setup relies on accurate timing and order coordination, particularly for online and delivery orders.

The use of the Flybuy system will provide real-time guest arrival intelligence, thereby facilitating order preparation and reducing wait times.

Swensons Drive-In staff will receive audio and visual alerts via the Flybuy Dashboard as guests or delivery drivers approach, arrive, and park in designated pickup spaces.

Guests who choose to share their location through the Flybuy app or web interface are automatically checked in upon arrival.

Those who do not share location data can instead check in using Flybuy’s Voice, Text or QR code-based system, removing the need for a Curb Server to first approach the car to confirm order details.

Swensons CEO Dan Mesches said: “Flybuy gives our team real-time visibility into arriving digital orders so they can assure our food is cooked to order, streamline their workflow, and execute faster, more precise exchanges.”

Swensons is also using Flybuy’s item-tagging tool, which highlights products that are often missed or must be timed carefully such as milkshakes, sauces, crispy add-ons and drinks.

These prompts appear on the dashboard so staff can verify order completeness and timing before a Curb Server takes the food to the vehicle.
