British manufacturer Target Catering Equipment has received a contract from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to produce equipment for a marine project.

The company has designed, manufactured and supplied the catering equipment, using its previous product designs as well as MoD’s specifications.

As part of the contract, Target Catering Equipment will design and fabricate three and four dish servery counters for Astute-class submarines of the Royal Navy.

Commissioned by Wathen Marine Catering Equipment Service, Target Catering secured the contract based on its performance in previous projects.

In 2000, the company received a contract from Kempsafe, a supplier to the Royal Navy’s shipbuilding contractors, to deliver catering equipment for their marine-based projects.

The contract covered design and fabrication of various items such as stainless-steel cupboards, counters, tabling and sinks.

Additionally, the catering equipment maker received another contract from Kempsafe in 2003 to design and fabricate eight and ten dish servery counters for HMS Invincible and HMS Ark Royal.

It is currently working with Kempsafe to design and fabricate various items such as servery counters, hot cupboards and stowage lockers for HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales warships.
