US-based fast-casual concept Tropical Smoothie Cafe has signed a development agreement with two franchising partners to open six locations across Ohio.
As part of the agreement, the franchisees, Kevin and Mike Couchman, will open the first of the six stores in Columbus next year.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe chief development officer and interim CEO Charles Watson said: “We’ve made a lot of headway in Ohio and continue to put our resources into expanding the Tropical Smoothie Cafe system throughout the state.
“We first met Kevin and Mike at a meet-and-greet event we recently hosted in Ohio, where we offered local entrepreneurs an opportunity to meet with our team and experience the brand first hand.
“We got to spend quality time with the Couchman’s and, after getting to know them, couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome them to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe brand. Their expertise and commitment to superior service will be a great asset as they expand the brand throughout Ohio.”
Kevin and Mike will work collaboratively to develop the six Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations across Ohio. They currently own 17 Jet’s Pizza franchise locations across the Columbus metropolitan area.
The smoothie chain will also open four cafes in Philadelphia and expand its presence in Orlando and Tampa, Florida.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe currently operates 700 locations and has signed more than 150 franchise agreements across the US, offering a range of snack and meal options including smoothies, wraps, sandwiches and flatbreads.
