UK retailer Sainsbury’s has entered into a partnership with restaurant chain Zizzi to allow its customers to pick-up the Italian brand’s premium pizzas from its stores.

Sainsbury’s Balham store is the first to launch the first in-store Zizzi pizza counter, which will also offer garlic breads, Rustica pizzas with vegan options and customised toppings and feature “Pizza of the Month” special.

The restaurant-quality pizzas can be ordered either in-store or through Click & Collect on the Zizzi website or through Deliveroo, an online delivery company.

The in-store launch follows Sainsbury’s introduction of Sushi Gourmet counters, Patisserie Valerie products and Crussh counter to its stores last year.

Sainsbury’s director of fresh food Adrian Cook said: “We’re committed to offering our customers an even greater choice of delicious, high-quality food in our stores and, by working with some of the best high street food brands such as Zizzi, we’re attracting new shoppers.

“We think customers will love the convenience of being able to pick up their ready to eat, restaurant-quality pizza alongside their other favourite foods for a special meal, all under one roof.”
