US-based fast casual restaurant chain Boston Market has appointed Frances Allen as its new chief executive officer.

The company’s current CEO George Michel is retiring and Allen will succeed him in his new role with immediate effect.

Michel said: “Serving as CEO of Boston Market has been an honour and the highlight of my career. I would like to thank the entire team for their tireless effort and commitment to making Boston Market a success and a great place to work.

“Frances is both a strategic and operational leader and I am confident that Boston Market will benefit greatly from her deep experience and expertise.”

Before joining Boston Market, Allen worked as Jack in the Box’s president from October 2014.

“We will build on the strong legacy that Boston Market has established to further improve our relevance with today’s busy families.”

She worked with Denny’s as the executive vice-president and chief marketing officer and held an important role with Dunkin’ Donuts also.
