American foodservice distributor US Foods Holding has opened a new wholesale food and restaurant supply store for independent restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Located in Farmers Branch, Texas, the new store is the company’s fifth CHEF’STORE designed as a one-stop shop for food industry professionals such as chefs, restaurant owners and others.
US Foods CHEF’STORE vice-president Josh Waters said: “US Foods is committed to helping independent restaurants succeed. With CHEF’STORE, we’ve developed a shopping experience specifically designed for food industry professionals who need to quickly and conveniently replenish ingredients.
“We recognise restaurant operators may want to purchase products through multiple channels and now, US Foods offers a new wholesale store that is there to help seven days a week, in addition to our traditional foodservice delivery.”
The 47,000ft2 store houses an assortment of more than 5,000 food products that range from fresh produce, meat and dairy to pantry staples, equipment such as cooking tools and restaurant grade stoves and other restaurant supplies.
The new CHEF’STORE also features ‘national brands’, US Foods’ exclusive brands and specialty ethnic items. According to the company, service at the store is available in both English and Spanish languages.
US Foods area president Tracy Osborne said: “The warehouse style shopping experience is easy to navigate and fully stocked with products that are available in case and individual quantities to best meet our customer’s needs. There are also temperature-controlled areas to ensure optimal freshness and allow us to offer a wide variety of fresh and frozen products.”
Headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, US Foods has more than 60 locations and partners with nearly 250,000 restaurants and foodservice operators. It generates approximately $24bn in annual revenue.
