Completion of the acquisition of these locations is anticipated on or around 23 March.

Alongside this, Various Eateries has secured terms for the potential purchase of The Queen’s Head in Surrey. The site is subject to an “asset of community value” process, meaning any sale can only proceed once the statutory notification and moratorium process has run its course, which may take up to six weeks.

The purchase price for the initial portfolio is £11.25m, payable on completion.

Following completion, the pubs will be rolled into a new concept within the group’s portfolio as ‘The Linwood Collection’.

Various Eateries, established by Punch Pubs founder Hugh Osmond, already operates the Coppa Club and Noci brands.

Various Eateries CEO Mark Loughborough said:  “Linwood marks an important step in the evolution of the Group.

“We are bringing into the business a small collection of premium pubs with rooms that have earned their reputations the right way, through great hospitality, careful attention to detail and a real sense of place.

“They are destinations with loyal followings, and our priority is straightforward: protect what people already love about them and build from there.

“This is also a format we know well and rate highly in the current market. Premium pubs with rooms combine food and drink with accommodation and a broader, destination-led appeal. Done well, that mix can deliver resilience and attractive economics, and we believe these sites have the quality to do exactly that.”

Alongside, the board of Various Eateries has proposed renaming the company Coppa Collective, saying the move reflects its “evolution into a broader, multi-format hospitality platform”.

The change is subject to the usual legal and regulatory processes, including registration with Companies House.
