Fast food restaurant company A&W has unveiled a new plant-based burger across Canada.
The vegetarian offering is created by the company’s “innovation kitchen”, reflecting the chain’s continued focus on vegetarian products.
Served in a toasted sesame seed bun, the patty of the new A&W plant-based burger is finished with red onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise.
A&W Canada innovation senior director Karan Suri stated: "All guests deserve a fantastic variety of delicious, innovative menu items. By taking the lead on our own plant-based recipe, we can ensure we are always delivering delicious, craveworthy burgers that our guests expect from A&W.
"We're excited for Canadians to enjoy the new A&W Plant-Based Burger alongside all their other favourites."
A&W’s launch adds to its expanding selection of permanent vegetarian menu options, which already features the Crispy Veggie Burger, the Masala Veggie Burger and the Spicy Piri-Piri Potato Buddy Burger.
A&W food services of Canada CEO Susan Senecal stated: "At A&W, we are proud of bringing great-tasting, innovative recipes to our menu. We look forward to welcoming Canadians to try out our new A&W Plant-Based Burger, alongside our other vegetarian favourites. I'm already a fan!”
A&W has more than 1,070 outlets that are owned and operated across Canada.
The restaurant company is known for staples such as its hand-battered Onion Rings, the Teen Burger and A&W Root Beer.
