Barrafina, a Spanish dining establishment under the Harts Group, is set to open its inaugural international restaurant in Dubai by the end of 2025.

The new venue will be located in DIFC Gate Village 01 in the financial district.

For the launch, the company has collaborated with the United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based Anthem Hospitality Group.

This is Barrafina's first venture outside the UK, almost two decades after its initial launch in Soho, London, in 2007, as reported by The Caterer.

The expansion into the Middle East is part of Harts Group's broader strategy to grow the Barrafina brand globally.

DIFC Gate Village hosts a range of restaurants including Hutong, which has a counterpart in London’s Shard, and Shanghai Me, which recently replaced Galvin at Windows at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Other dining options in the area include Zuma, Sucre and Gaia, all of which have established locations in London.

Further openings of Barrafina restaurants in the Middle East are anticipated as part of the group's expansion plans.

Barrafina was established in 2007 by brothers Sam and Eddie Hart, with its first site in Soho led by chef Nieves Barragán.

The Dean Street location previously held a Michelin star, which it lost in 2025. Barrafina currently operates five restaurants in London, with executive chefs Antonio González Milla and Francisco (Paco) José Torrico Sanchez overseeing operations. The Harts restaurant group includes six brands: Bar Daskal, the Drop, El Pastor, Parrillan, Quo Vadis and Two Drops.
