Chicken Salad Chick has signed a 25-unit franchise development agreement covering multiple markets in upstate New York, US.

In a statement, the fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept said the deal is the largest franchise agreement in its history.

Under the deal, new restaurants are planned across Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and the Upper Hudson Valley.

The company said the agreement is backed by an “experienced multi-unit owner” with a background in developing national franchise brands.

Chicken Salad Chick franchise development vice-president Mark Verges said: “This is a landmark moment for Chicken Salad Chick as we expand into new regions.

“New York represents a tremendous growth opportunity, and we're excited to partner with a seasoned operator to introduce our brand to guests across the state. Our concept continues to resonate nationwide, and we're confident in its ability to perform well in new markets.”

The announcement follows Chicken Salad Chick opening franchise development opportunities in New York and New Jersey. The company said additional territories remain available in both states for prospective franchise owners.

Chicken Salad Chick operates more than 330 restaurants across 22 US states. Last year, the company awarded nearly 100 new franchise restaurant deals and opened 42 locations across 14 states. The brand said it has more than 300 locations in its development pipeline.

Earlier this year, Chicken Salad Chick signed another franchise deal to expand into Nevada. The expansion will include six outlets across the metropolitan market.
