American entertainment centre and restaurant chain Chuck E. Cheese is set to expand into the UK.

The chain has reached a multi-unit agreement for the expansion, aiming to introduce a “fresh expression” of the brand customised particularly for the UK market.

This combines food, arcade games, play zones, and the company's signature characters, including Chuck E. Cheese.

The expansion also launches the brand in Europe for the first time, offering it a footprint on six continents.

Chuck E. Cheese International chief operating officer Mario Centola said: “Chuck E. Cheese is an incredible global brand that brings families together across cultures through the universal language of fun.

“We’re thrilled to bring our unique magic for family fun to the UK. We have partnered with an outstanding team that shares our passion for delivering unforgettable family experiences.”

The UK launch, in collaboration with a dedicated local team, is the latest step in Chuck E. Cheese's global expansion strategy, which includes enhancing entertainment offerings and expanding the reach of its intellectual property licensing.

The brand claims to have an “adaptable” franchise model, adding that it is focused on integrating local elements into each market.

Chuck E. Cheese and its franchisees currently operate around 600 fun centres across 45 states in the US and 17 foreign countries and territories.

In June 2024, Chuck E. Cheese launched its inaugural location in Kuwait, in collaboration with Joury International Restaurants.

Furthermore, the brand forayed into Australia in January 2024 by entering a master franchise partnership agreement with the Royale Hospitality Group.
