Loungers' Cosy Club brand has exchanged contracts to occupy the ground floor of the iconic Exchange Buildings in Swansea, with plans to open in the first half of 2025, as reported by Insider Media.

The development marks a significant expansion for the brand, which currently operates 36 locations across the UK, including two in Cardiff.

The new restaurant will be part of a larger project involving the Post House and Exchange Buildings, aiming to add 80 rooms to the Morgans Collection.

Swansea.com managing director Jacob Hughes said in a LinkedIn post: "Delighted that we have exchanged contracts to bring Cosy Club (part of Loungers plc) to Swansea. They will look to occupy the Iconic Exchange Buildings' ground floor, and we hope they will be open and trading in H1 2025 [the first half of fiscal 2025]. Bringing such a key occupier to Swansea is crucial in our elevation strategy for our Maritime Quarter developments and the city as a whole."

He added: "A special thanks to Alex Kalebic & Dominic Garner for getting this one over the line; it was quite fitting that the first viewing took place on Beaujolais Day 2023, and the alcohol licence application was published on Beaujolais Day 2024.”

Hughes emphasised that the Cosy Club is a fantastic brand that is part of Loungers, and the enthusiasm for bringing it to Swansea.

Both landlord and tenant are committed to a substantial investment in the property to prepare for Cosy Club's opening.

These developments, to be announced in winter 2024/25, will contribute to the growth and appeal of the Morgans Collection.
