Cincinnati, Ohio-based Graeter's Ice Cream, a family-run ice cream maker, and Skyline Chili, a Cincinnati-style restaurant chain, have collaborated for the creation of a new product - Graeter's Skyline Spice Ice Cream.

The limited-edition flavour, which combines handcrafted French Pot ice cream with oyster crackers and Skyline's chili spice mix, will be available nationwide.

Available online from 24 January 2025 and in stores from 27 January, the ice cream is sweet and savoury and “unlike anything ice cream or chili lovers have tasted before”.

It represents a fusion of distinctive tastes from two of Cincinnati's culinary brands.

Graeter's CEO and fourth-generation president Richard Graeter said: "Everyone who knows chili knows Skyline and, as longtime fans ourselves, we were eager to collaborate on a one-of-a-kind, must-try flavour.

"Last year, speculation about our unconventional and somewhat polarising partnership started a social media frenzy. We spent months perfecting the recipe and are extremely happy to confirm the rumours are true – and the flavour will surprise you."

The new flavour is offered in 5oz scoops across all Skyline’s restaurants, as well as by the pint and scoop at Graeter's scoop shops.

Select Kroger stores in Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis and Louisville also stock pints of the new ice cream.

Outside these areas, the Skyline Spice Ice Cream can be ordered via Graeter's website for delivery across the country.

Skyline Chili chairman and CEO Dick Williams said: "This is the first time Skyline has done a dessert collaboration, so we knew it needed to be worth it.

"Graeter's Skyline Spice Ice Cream has the heart and soul of both beloved Midwest-born brands in every bite."

In January 2025, the Ohio-based restaurant chain Skyline Chili collaborated with restaurant integration company Otter Middleware to enhance its delivery services and improve customer experience.

The restaurant, known for its Cheese Coneys and 3-Ways, sought a solution to integrate its point-of-sale system with online delivery platforms.
