US-based restaurant chain the Habit Burger Grill is expanding its existing footprint with a new drive-through location in California.  

The restaurant, known for its Charburgers cooked-to-order over an open flame, will open its doors at Ojai, Ventura County, on 17 July 2024. 

It will offer a range of dining options including dine-in, drive-through and takeout, with delivery available through The Habit Burger Grill app and third-party delivery services such as Grubhub, DoorDash, Postmates and Uber Eats. 

Located at 11560 N. Ventura Avenue, the 2,375ft² Ojai restaurant will feature a patio and provide guests with the company's “Habit Hospitality” concept. 

Both the drive-through and restaurant with optional self-service kiosks will operate from 10:00am to 10:00pm daily. 

The Habit Burger Grill culinary innovation director and chef Jason Triail said: “The Habit Burger Grill kicked off in Santa Barbara back in '69, so opening up just a stone’s throw from the original here in Ojai feels pretty special. 

“Ojai's got a lot going for it - great art scene, awesome music festivals and some seriously beautiful outdoors. We are excited to bring our chargrilled burgers, flavour-packed sandwiches, and the rest of our unique menu to the community.” 

To celebrate the opening, the Habit Burger Grill will hold exclusive pre-opening VIP events for its CharClub and mobile app members on 13, 15 and 16 July.  

The first 200 guests at each event will receive complimentary meals, including the brand's signature Charburger, fries and a drink on Free Charburger Day, and a chargrilled meal from a pre-set menu on Free Habit Day.  

Attendance requires a CharClub membership and a VIP invitation. 

Since its inception in 1969 in Southern California, the Habit Burger Grill has built a reputation for its expansive menu that celebrates Californian-inspired flavours.  

Its menu also includes handcrafted sandwiches, salads and shakes.
