Fast-casual restaurant brand Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is expanding its US presence with a new location in the city of Wichita, Kansas.

The Wichita-based franchisee, Ohana Restaurant Group, is set to open the location in autumn 2024.

It will be the restaurant brand’s first location in the city and will be situated near the corner of 13th and Greenwich, in the Plazzio Retail and Entertainment Center, west of Chicken N Pickle.

Owned by Zach Fugate and cousins Nick and Nathan Blasi, Ohana Restaurant Group became a Hawaiian Bros franchisee in May 2023.

Besides franchising the Springdale, Arkansas location, it plans to develop seven further Hawaiian Bros restaurants across four markets.

Fugate, as the designated principal for Hawaiian Bros, oversees operations and real estate site selection.

Ohana Restaurant Group co-owner Fugate said: “We believe the unique flavours and fast-casual dining experience offered by Hawaiian Bros will be a perfect fit for the Wichita community.

“We are confident that residents will embrace the Hawaiian plate lunch concept and can't wait to open our doors and share a taste of the islands with our friends, family, and neighbours here.”

Plazzio Retail and Entertainment Center is a 350,000 ft² retail and entertainment unit.

Hawaiian Bros Island Grill has experienced significant growth since 2020, attributing part of its success to a simple menu that promotes supply chain efficiency and claims to have a 30-second service standard at its drive-through windows.

In March 2024, the brand opened its first two franchise locations in Tucson and Glendale, Arizona.

Hawaiian Bros Island Grill owns and franchises 55 restaurants spread across nine US states.
