KFC Australia has launched a crispier version of its Original burger series, 7NEWS has reported.

The introduction of the crispy burger series marks a permanent expansion of KFC Australia's menu.

The restaurant brand’s burger series includes The Original Crispy, The Original Crispy Cheese and Bacon and The Original Crispy Stacker, with mayonnaise on the brand's signature chicken fillet.

To celebrate the crispy series launch, KFC Australia is offering The Original Crispy Burger for free at a pop-up store called The Original Crispery in Sydney on 17 and 18 May 2024.

The Darlinghurst pop-up store will also offer other off-menu items such as fluffy cheesecake, green chips — broccolini and asparagus, and a peanut butter and jam sandwich.

KFC Australia chief marketing officer Tami Cunningham was quoted by the publication as saying: “To mark the launch of our new series, it was only appropriate to create an emporium of all things crispy.

“The Original Crispery promises to be an avalanche on the senses. It will include an exhibition of crispy curiosities, as well as a selection of KFC-ified products, where our talented chefs will put our double breading craft to the test across a range of unexpected yet craveable treats for all fans to taste.”

In October 2023, KFC opened its first nightclub, The Fried Side Club, for one day with Aussie DJ Luude in Sydney, Australia.
