Belgian bakery-café chain Le Pain Quotidien has entered into a master franchise agreement with Sinteks Group to open new locations across Azerbaijan.

The partnership will introduce the brand's all-day bakery and restaurant concept to the Azerbaijani market, beginning with a focus on the capital city of Baku.

The company has not provided a specific launch timeline, but the expansion into Azerbaijan represents "another significant step" in Le Pain Quotidien's global growth strategy and development, as stated in a LinkedIn post by the bakery-restaurant chain.

Le Pain Quotidien said: “We are thrilled to announce that [we have] signed a master franchise contract with the Sinteks Group of Companies in Azerbaijan! This marks another important step in our global expansion strategy.

“In our initial phase, we plan to open multiple all-day bakeries and restaurants in Baku, bringing the Le Pain Quotidien experience to the vibrant heart of Azerbaijan. We are excited to partner with the esteemed Sinteks Group to introduce our commitment to quality and simplicity to this new market.”

The Sinteks Group, established in 1996, is a prominent retail conglomerate in the country.

The group has a diverse portfolio of more than 300 brands across the fashion, jewellery and beauty sectors, including licensed stores for high-end labels such as Burberry, Emporio Armani, Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren.

Globally, Le Pain Quotidien operates more than 200 outlets, with a strong presence in the US, Argentina and Belgium.

The brand is known for its homemade pastries, handmade organic bread, soups, salads, tartines and vegan options, available throughout the day and for catering services.
