US quick service franchise Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken is set to expand its presence in Central Indiana after third-generation family member Jack Omer acquired the franchise’s restaurant in New Castle.

Omer purchased the site from long-serving franchisee Mike Fort, who had operated the location since 1996.

Alongside the acquisition, Omer has entered a development agreement to open six additional Lee’s restaurants in the greater Indianapolis area over the next five years.

Omer is the grandson of Harold Omer, who co-founded Lee’s with Lee Cummings.

Omer said: “With the franchisor’s commitment to quality and growth, I’m excited to help carry that momentum forward for our company, our community, and our family.

“Mike has been such a strong and dedicated ambassador of the brand.”

Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken currently has more than 130 outlets across 12 US states and in Canada.

In his new role as an owner, Omer will collaborate with chief development officer Logan Sumner and the company’s development team to remodel the New Castle restaurant.

He will also participate in wider growth and brand initiatives across the broader Central Indiana market.

Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken CEO Ryan Weaver said: “Jack represents everything that makes Lee’s special.

“He grew up in our kitchens, learned the business from the people who built it, and carries a deep respect for the communities these restaurants serve. His blend of family connection, operational understanding, and brand experience makes him uniquely positioned to lead our growth in Central Indiana."
