Maple links voice AI with OpenTable for automated phone bookings

The integration allows restaurant operators using both services to route incoming calls to Maple’s AI-driven voice assistant.

Restaurant-focused voice AI provider Maple has announced an integration with OpenTable, connecting Maple’s automated phone system directly to OpenTable’s reservation platform.

The integration allows restaurant operators using both services to route incoming calls to Maple’s AI-driven voice assistant, which can make, change or cancel OpenTable reservations via natural language conversations round-the-clock.

Maple CEO and founder Aidan Chau stated: "Restaurants don't miss calls because they don't care - they miss calls because they're focusing on the in-person experience.

"When a server is pouring wine or a host is seating a party, the phone shouldn't be their priority. Our integration with OpenTable means restaurants never have to choose between the guest in front of them and the one on the line."

Maple accesses OpenTable’s live table inventory to confirm bookings based on real-time availability.

The integration is designed to capture calls that might otherwise be missed during busy periods, with the AI system handling routine reservation requests.

It passes more complex enquiries or high-priority guests to staff, along with contextual details from the call.

All interactions are recorded within the system, providing operators with a record of guest requests and preferences.

The company says that multi-site groups can roll out the integration across their estates with centralised reporting on performance and usage.

Maple’s platform, launched in December 2023, has so far answered more than one million calls for restaurant clients, with the company reporting that 92% of those interactions were resolved without staff involvement.

In addition to reservations, the system can process takeaway orders, catering queries, opening hours and directions, and frequently asked questions.

It can connect to point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Chau stated: "We built Maple to give independent restaurants the same technology that enterprise chains have access to, without the enterprise price tag."

In early December 2025, Loman AI, the restaurant-focused AI provider, integrated with OpenTable, enabling restaurants to manage bookings via an automated phone agent.
