Metafoodx launches AI-powered temperature monitoring

The system enables kitchens to minimise waste and enhance regulatory adherence on a large scale.

Metafoodx, a company specialising in AI-driven food operations, has launched its advanced temperature monitoring system.

This technology is crafted to identify, predict, and avert food safety issues before they arise. It seeks to address problems proactively in professional kitchens.

The system offers continuous temperature tracking and proactive notifications. It enables kitchens to minimise waste and enhance regulatory adherence on a large scale.

This solution addresses the challenge of ensuring food safety during operations.

Annually, vast quantities of food are thrown away due to temperature-related problems. Many items fall within the FDA’s “danger zone” (5°C to 57°C) during service.

Metafoodx identified that 56% of food scanned in one large kitchen was unfit for consumption during busy periods.

In contrast to conventional thermometers, Metafoodx’s proprietary scanner records surface temperatures and 3D food profiles.

It calculates internal temperatures without intrusive probes. This facilitates seamless safety monitoring.

Scans conducted before and after service monitor temperature fluctuations over time. Kitchens can establish time-based protocols to ensure compliance.

The AI adapts to each kitchen’s unique setup, menu, and equipment to provide customised suggestions.

Metafoodx states its technology cuts temperature-related food waste by 20% to 30%. It improves compliance through instant alerts and removes the need for manual temperature checks. Additionally, it extends safe food storage duration by up to 40 minutes.

The system is operational in commercial kitchens at institutions like Pomona College and the University of Guelph.

Metafoodx reports tangible outcomes in these settings. The technology aims to elevate customer satisfaction by ensuring consistent food quality.
