Global bakery café franchise Paris Baguette has expanded its footprint in the US by opening its new store at Philadelphia International Airport.
Marking the brand’s 300th store in the country, as well as its first bakery café in an American airport, the store aligns with the brand’s strategy to move into “high-traffic” non-traditional spaces.
The airport café is operated by airport concessions company Onsite Retailers, owned by Terri and Sandy Roberts.
Terri Roberts said: "We're honoured to be a part of this milestone with Paris Baguette, and we know it will be a valuable addition to the Philadelphia International Airport ecosystem. We've seen an explosion in culture surrounding bakeries.
"Americans are moving away from packaged sweets and looking for real, artisan creations like the ones Paris Baguette is known for. Our goal has always been to bring the high-quality café experience into the airport, and Paris Baguette is the perfect fit for that vision."
The opening follows a year in which Paris Baguette added 77 US cafés and signed approximately 300 new development agreements.
The brand says it has more than 600 cafés in the pipeline and remains on track to reach 1,000 US locations by 2030. It also plans to open its 400th bakery café in North America this year.
Paris Baguette CEO Darren Tipton said: “The opening of our 300th US café at the Philadelphia International Airport is a testament to the incredible scalability and appeal of the Paris Baguette brand.
“Expanding our footprint is exciting, but this is also a strategic milestone.
“By entering the airport space, we're proving that the high-quality, artisan bakery experience can thrive in diverse environments, opening the door to serve a high volume of global travellers and entering a new phase of growth that includes expansion in non-traditional hubs.”
