Autonomous sidewalk delivery firm Serve Robotics has initiated its operations in the Atlanta metropolitan region in partnership with Uber Technologies’ delivery platform, Uber Eats.

The robots are embedded within the Uber Eats application for local eateries.

Uber autonomous delivery operations head Megan Jensen said: “Today’s announcement with Serve Robotics marks our first entry with autonomous delivery in Atlanta.

“We continue to drive innovation with a commitment to making food delivery as convenient as possible.”

This development follows effective launches in Los Angeles, Miami, and Dallas–Fort Worth.

Patrons ordering from popular spots such as Rreal Tacos or Ponko Chicken might receive their next meals via Serve’s robots.

The nationwide delivery agreement with Shake Shack will also cover Atlanta. The initiative seeks to offer efficient, technology-driven delivery to locals.

Serve’s robots have started navigating the pavements of Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, and Downtown Atlanta.

This rollout delivers innovative, eco-friendly convenience to over 50,000 Atlanta residents. The firm has worked closely with local groups to ensure a smooth introduction.

This launch is a vital milestone in Serve’s plan to deploy 2,000 AI-driven robots across the US by the close of 2025.

Further US locations are anticipated to be revealed shortly.

Serve Robotics co-founder and CEO Dr Ali Kashani said: “As one of the largest and fastest-growing markets in the Southeast, Atlanta is a strategic next step for our planned nationwide expansion.

“We are pleased to be one of the first robotics companies to enter the market and bring our friendly approach to robotic delivery.”

In November 2024, Serve Robotics reached an agreement to purchase assets from Vebu, a provider of custom automation and robotic solutions for restaurant partners.
