Craveworthy Brand's US-based barbecue concept Sigri Indian BBQ has entered a franchise agreement for a new location in Hillsborough in the state of New Jersey.

The new venue is scheduled to open in 2026.

An entrepreneur with a background in cybersecurity and technology will own and operate the Hillsborough outlet.

Sigri, established in 2015, draws inspiration from India’s roadside "dhabas" - restaurants serving local cuisine.

The menu features items ranging from kebabs to spiced bowls and kathi rolls.

Sigri co-founder Utkarsh Yadav said: "Every dish at Sigri tells a story rooted in culture, and with the right local entrepreneur's passion behind it, that story comes alive in new ways.

"Having started Sigri here in New Jersey, it's deeply meaningful to see that story evolve through other operators. This next chapter brings new energy and perspective, sharing Sigri's warmth and soul with a new generation of guests."

Craveworthy acquired the fast-casual restaurant brand in 2024 and unveiled a national franchise programme for the Sigri concept in early November 2025, announcing a multi-unit deal to expand it into the Chicagoland area.

Craveworthy Brands franchise leadership senior vice-president Samuel Stanovich stated: "Sigri embodies the bold, vibrant spirit of North Indian barbecue, a concept unlike anything else in the franchise space.

"Seeing interest ignite so quickly since launching the programme has been incredible. Expanding in New Jersey, where the brand first took shape, makes this moment especially meaningful. It's a clear sign that operators are craving concepts with real heart and growth potential."

The companyt's franchise partners receive operational support and access to a business model aimed at scaleable growth.
