Glasgow-based restaurant group Six by Nico is set to open its first Welsh outlet in Cardiff this August.

The new restaurant will be located at the former site of the Italian restaurant chain Zizzi at 27 High Street.

According to the Caterer, it will also add a themed menu experience to the Welsh capital.

The latest location is expected to create between 40 and 50 jobs and has been designed as a tribute to Cardiff Castle.

Six by Nico founder and acting CEO Nico Simeone said: "We have been lucky enough to grow our concept since opening a small 30 cover restaurant in Glasgow in 2017. Cardiff marks a huge milestone for us, as this will be our first location in Wales.

"We are really excited to bring our ever-evolving experience to the community of Cardiff and Wales – it's a special moment for me and the team who have been here since the beginning, we can't wait to show off the Six by Nico experience."

The restaurant also has a presence across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, Manchester, Leeds, Aberdeen, Belfast and London.

Established in Finnieston, Scotland, Six by Nico is based on the concept of a six-course tasting menu, which changes every six weeks. Every menu is based on a theme inspired by different places, memories and ideas.

The menu is usually priced at £48 in London and £39 in other cities, excluding drinks.
