Premium Restaurants of America, the operator of Starbucks in El Salvador, has announced the launch of the Starbucks Rewards loyalty programme in the country from 30 May 2024.

The programme is designed to enhance digital engagement with customers by offering a more personalised rewards system.

Starbucks Rewards is a purchase-based loyalty programme that allows members to earn Stars based on the amount they spend on eligible purchases.

Customers can join the programme and start accumulating Stars using various payment methods, including the Starbucks Digital Card, credit card, debit card, or cash.

From the outset, Starbucks Rewards members in El Salvador will begin earning Stars, ensuring immediate value for Salvadorian customers, the company said.

The programme allows members to redeem Stars for rewards such as complimentary drinks or meals.

The programme features two tiers, namely Green and Gold.

At the Green level, members enjoy benefits like a free beverage for every 150 Stars, a complimentary birthday drink, and a free Americano with the purchase of whole bean coffee.

After accumulating 200 Stars, members are promoted to the Gold level, where they receive all Green level perks plus additional benefits, including a second free bean option, complimentary refills of the coffee of the day, and more.

Salvadorian customers will also benefit from the ability to place and pay for orders in advance through the Starbucks app, enabling them to pick up their orders at any Starbucks location without waiting in line.

Furthermore, the introduction of the Starbucks Card, a prepaid option, allows users to earn double Stars for every dollar when they reload and use the card for payment.

Starbucks El Salvador country manager Sofia Flores said: “The launch of Starbucks Rewards is a priority for our market, as it will allow us to connect even more with our customers by personalizing their experience in an accessible and quick way.”

Premium Restaurants of America started Starbucks operations in El Salvador in November 2010 with its first café, Starbucks Santa Elena. Currently, it operates 25 stores in the market with café formats, self-service, and kiosks. It has a workforce of more than 350 partners (employees) in El Salvador and plans to continue growing.
