British restaurant chain Wagamama has reopened its Noodle Lab in Soho, London, according to The Caterer report.

The company plans to use the location as its new test kitchen for creating new menu items.

Wagamama global executive chef Steve Mangleshot was quoted by The Caterer as saying: “Our chefs can't wait to showcase their skills and play with the weird and wonderful to create innovative and groundbreaking dishes.”

In addition to creating new menu items, Wagamama also plans to host a series of new collaborations with food innovators from across the country at the Noodle Lab.

Located on Great Marlborough Street, the restaurant brand's new experimental kitchen will be open seven days a week.

It will also serve as the new playground for Wagamama’s chefs and would help in creating and serving new menu items, including vegan Korean corn dogs, sweet potato fries, beef brisket or aubergine, and caramelised onion and chouxnuts with a custard filling.

In 2017, the restaurant chain first opened its test kitchen in Soho's Dean Street and was later shifted to Old Street in 2021.

With the reopening of Noodle Lab, the Old Street location will continue to operate as a normal Wagamama restaurant outlet.

In March this year, Wagamama’s parent company The Restaurant Group unveiled plans to close 75 to 85 sites by 2024 due to increasing costs.
