US hot dog franchise Wienerschnitzel has signed two development agreements that will introduce eight new outlets across Spokane, Washington State and Fort Worth, Texas.
The deals are part of the brand's strategic move into high-growth markets and will be led by multi-unit operators Evan Carbonell and Paul Del Bufalo, both current Wienerschnitzel franchisees.
Paul Del Bufalo, who has been with the franchise for less than five years, recently inaugurated his second store in Nampa.
He now plans to extend his operations into the Spokane and Post Falls–Coeur d'Alene, Idaho areas with four new establishments.
Evan Carbonell, who currently owns four Wienerschnitzel outlets in El Paso, Texas, is set to contribute to the brand's growth in the state with the addition of four new locations in Fort Worth under the Met1Franks group.
Carbonell's team is engaged in securing real estate for their inaugural Dallas-Fort Worth location and is also in the process of a new store development in Phoenix, Arizona.
Wienerschnitzel franchise development director Ted Milburn stated: "Paul and Evan are prime examples of the type of franchise partners who excel in our system.
"Neither came from restaurant development or operations, yet both brought the skills, ambition and entrepreneurial drive needed to build thriving businesses from the ground up. They're brand ambassadors, hands-on operators and deeply committed to their employees and guests. Their success stories are a key profile we're looking to replicate in many markets across the US.”
The expansion momentum is in line with Wienerschnitzel's recent seven-unit deal that marked the brand's entry into the East Coast with its first Virginia locations.
Wienerschnitzel is also exploring non-traditional growth avenues, with six upcoming locations within Walmart stores and a new three-store deal in southwest Washington, which includes a non-traditional outlet.
There are 340 current franchised locations of Wienerschnitzel operating across 13 US states, with more than 50 units in various stages of development nationwide.
