Yates in Torquay, a community hub in the Devon town in the UK, has been reopened as a Craft Union venue following a £97,000 investment.

The move integrates Yates in Torquay into the expanding Craft Union portfolio.

The seafront location offers indoor and outdoor seating options, a dedicated darts area and a brand-new pool table.

Experienced Craft Union operator Tracie Brookes will be in charge of the recently renovated location.

Brookes said: “I’ve been running pubs, primarily in the West Midlands, for many years now and it is an honour to be relocating to Torquay to run Yates.

“I am really looking forward to getting to know our locals and learning what they want from the venue. I’ve got plenty of ideas and am eager to make Yates a venue everyone can enjoy, with fantastic community events at the heart of what we do.”

In March 2024, Craft Union, part of the Stonegate Group, reopened the refurbished John Harvey Arms pub in Whitchurch, following a six-figure investment.

The community-focused establishment has undergone a £230,000 transformation and features a fresh and modernised interior.

It features a contemporary design with new seating arrangements, a renovated bar area and complete interior redecoration.

The renovation was part of Craft Union’s plan to offer sports and entertainment amenities across its venues.

The pub was also fitted with new televisions featuring full Sky and TNT Sports packages, along with pool tables and dartboards.
