As part of the rollout, the chain plans to implement Toast restaurant point-of-sale (POS) terminals, multi-location management, kitchen display systems (KDS) and payment processing solutions.

The pizza chain also plans to use AI-driven insights through Toast IQ.

Toast enterprise chief marketing officer and chief operating officer Kelly Esten said: “Pizza is one of the most complicated categories in hospitality, and the Toast platform is designed to handle it—from toggling between pickup and delivery to allowing guests to accurately place orders for preferred topping mixes.”

Toast’s platform will also be supported by its Partner Ecosystem, including integration partners such as Cartwheel and Stream. The technology specialist said these integrations help pizza operators build customised technology stacks for high-volume restaurant operations.

Hungry Howie’s technology services vice-president Dan McKay said: “Hungry Howie’s has spent over 50 years building a brand based on flavour and incredible service. To continue our growth, we selected Toast as a best-in-class technology partner that truly understands the unique technical demands of our business and the enterprise scale at which we operate.

“Toast’s flexibility and its ability to integrate seamlessly with our existing partners made it the right choice to help us scale, support our franchisees, and keep our focus on the food.”

Toast works with several multi-unit brands, including Caribou Coffee, Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill, Craveworthy Brands, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Papa Gino’s & D’Angelo, among others.

Last month, Ike’s Love & Sandwiches selected Toast’s enterprise technology suite for its network of 100 sandwich shops in the US.
