With the latest round, MarginEdge’s total funding has reached $162m.
Ten Coves Capital co-founder and managing partner Ned May said: “When we first invested in MarginEdge, we saw a team with an exceptional understanding of restaurant operations and a long-term vision for where the industry was headed.
“Over the years, they’ve continued to invest in the product, the underlying data and the people needed to turn that vision into reality. We’re excited to continue supporting the team as they help restaurants benefit from AI in practical, meaningful ways.”
The company said it will use the new capital to expand its AI-related products built on restaurant data.
Founded in 2015, MarginEdge offers tools that combine purchasing, inventory, recipes, sales and accounting in one platform. The system is aimed at reducing manual back-office work for restaurant operators.
MarginEdge said it now serves more than 13,000 restaurants. It has processed over 40 million invoices, covering $28bn in purchasing volume.
This year, MarginEdge added new AI features, including “Tom the Tomato”, an in-built assistant. The tool uses company data and an operator’s business context to recommend orders, flag potential waste, explain unexpected performance and suggest next steps.
The company has also expanded features in payments through the MarginEdge Card, sales forecasting and invoice automation.
Separately, MarginEdge recently launched a restaurant-specific Model Context Protocol connector. This allows operators to connect their restaurant data with AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude.
MarginEdge said it will also continue investing in research and development, as well as sales and marketing, as it moves into its next phase.
MarginEdge founder and CEO Bo Davis said: “We’ve spent the last decade helping restaurants organise every part of their business—from purchasing and inventory to recipes, accounting and payments. Clean, trusted restaurant data is the heart of powerful AI, and now we can put it to work in ways that simply weren’t possible before.”
