It added that its partner’s knowledge of the Brazilian market made it well placed to launch the brand in the country.

Bold Hospitality Company CEO Pierre Berenstein said: “Shake Shack is one of the most admired brands in hospitality and bringing it to Brazil marks an exciting new chapter for Bold Hospitality Company.

“Our companies share the same belief that great food and genuine hospitality create moments people remember. We are honoured to partner with Shake Shack and to build this brand in Brazil with the care and long-term commitment it deserves.”

Shake Shack noted that after seven years of expansion in Mexico and with an entry into Panama planned, Brazil will be the next major stage in Shake Shack’s regional development.

In line with its purpose to “Stand For Something Good”, Shake Shack will work with Brazilian producers and suppliers.

Its menu is expected to include favourites such as the ShackBurger, Chicken Shack, crinkle cut fries, and frozen custard, alongside products incorporating local flavours.

Shake Shack Global Licensing president Michael Kark said: “As we continue to expand across Latin America, Brazil has long stood out as one of our most requested markets.

“Its passion for great food, lively culture, and meaningful hospitality makes it a natural fit for Shake Shack, and we’re excited to partner with Bold Hospitality Company to embark on this next chapter of growth.”

Kark noted that the company plans to open 40 locations across Brazil by 2036, beginning with the brand’s first store in São Paulo in 2027.

Shake Shack opened its first restaurant in 2004 at Madison Square Park in New York City.

It now has more than 740 locations worldwide, including around 475 across 36 US states and the District of Columbia, as well as over 265 international sites.
