International Sushi Day falls on 18 June. It was launched in 2009 to encourage consumers and food manufacturers around the world to try and enjoy sushi recipes. The original type of sushi was developed as a fish preservation method in Southeast Asia where it then spread to southern China before reaching Japan where it has gone on to become the sophisticated range of dishes enjoyed today.
To mark the day, Verdict Foodservice looks at how restaurants around the globe are celebrating International Sushi Day with great-tasting sushi.
