Europe witnessed a 4.8% drop in IT hiring activity in the food service industry in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
September 2022 has seen an increase of 38.84% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 0.6% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 32.47% in September 2022, a 13.79% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 31.17% in September 2022, marking a 100% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 27.27% in September 2022, a 27.59% drop from August 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 7.79% in September 2022, a 33.33% decline over the previous month.
Top five food service companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 17.14% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s food service industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Greene King posted 24 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 17.24% over the previous month, followed by AmRest Holdings with 17 jobs and a 240% growth. HelloFresh with 8 IT jobs and Delivery Hero with 5 jobs, recorded a 61.9% drop and a 54.55% drop, respectively, while Colten Care recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s food service industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s food service industry IT hiring activity with a 51.95% share in September 2022, a 16.67% decrease over August 2022. Hungary featured next with a 22.08% share, up 240% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 14.29% share, a drop of 64.52% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.34%, down by 20% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 29.87% share, registered a growth of 64.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.19% share, down 60% over August 2022.
