The US’s food service industry registered an 18.0% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.01% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the food service industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.67% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s food service industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry in August 2022.
1) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations recorded a share of 42.14% in August 2022, registering a 50% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 27.56% share, a decrease of 4.72% over the previous month.
3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 20.05%, registering a 104.65% rise from July 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.74%, up 21.43% over the previous month.
Top five food service companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 34.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Bloomin’ Brands posted 128 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 63.53% over the previous month, followed by Aimbridge Hospitality with 71 jobs and a 29% drop. DoorDash with 52 IT jobs and Denny’s with 33 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 1550% growth, respectively, while The University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service recorded an increase of 26.32% with 24 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.83%, down by 31.73% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 9.57% share, registered an increase of 90.91% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.61% share, up 26.09% over July 2022.
