The US’s food service industry registered a 3.7% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.31% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the food service industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.58% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food service industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry in October 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 44.98% in October 2022, registering a 16.55% decline over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 25.65% share, a decrease of 14.81% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 12.64%, registering a 17.07% decline from September 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 8.18%, down 94.94% over the previous month.

Top five food service companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.82% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Aimbridge Hospitality posted 74 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 3.9% over the previous month, followed by AmRest Holdings with 26 jobs and a 3.7% drop. Starbucks with 25 IT jobs and University of Texas at Austin Division of Housing and Food Service with 23 jobs, recorded a 10.71% decline and a 15% growth, respectively, while McDonald’s recorded an increase of 53.85% with 20 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.44%, down by 67.08% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.01% share, registered a decline of 12.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.55% share, down 56.6% over September 2022.
