Quick-service restaurant (QSR) franchise Açaí Republic has selected Square’s unified commerce platform for its restaurant network in the US.
Known for its organic açaí bowls and smoothie-focused menu, the franchise plans to use Square’s tools in 36 outlets across California, Hawaii, Arizona and Florida.

The decision comes as the brand accelerates expansion, with more than eight additional restaurants currently under construction.
Açaí Republic’s investment in the new technology aims to support its growth plans, create more consistent operations across locations and deliver a smoother experience for customers.
Açaí Republic founder Adriano Nasal said: “There’s a natural synergy between what we believe in and what Square enables our business to achieve. We care about the health of our communities and need a solution to drive the health of our business.
“We uphold sustainable practices and are focused on achieving sustainable, long-term growth. Square stood out because it aligns with what we put on the menu with the technology behind our operations.
“We’re able to manage our franchises across states, scale our specialised menu, and ensure the same vibrant experience our customers love at every location.”
The deployment includes several components of Square’s restaurant and franchise offerings such as Square for Franchises, Square Register and Square Terminal.
These tools are being used to unify menus, simplify reporting requirements and enable franchise operators with systems to support daily restaurant management.
Açaí Republic has also adopted Square’s open API framework to configure the platform around its particular needs.
The company is using a customised kiosk installation, with software running on Square Terminal, to process customer payments.
Commenting on the collaboration, Square food and beverage head James Schonzeit said: “Quick-service restaurants are inherently complex businesses, and franchising adds another layer of coordination across operators, systems, and customer experiences.
“Square was built to solve that in a single destination, giving brands like Açaí Republic the tools to easily run, innovate, and scale.
“Whether that’s standardising operations or building custom experiences that set them apart, we’re here to help them grow from neighbourhood favourites to nationally recognised names.”
Last month, QSR brand Steak Escape adopted Square as its unified commerce system for its 23 locations.
