US-based fast-casual chain Chicken Salad Chick is set to expand its store network in North Carolina with the addition of a new restaurant.

Located at 1131 Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington, the new restaurant is scheduled to open on 6 November this year.

The Wilmington location marks the third for the fast-casual chain in the state, and follows the recent opening of two restaurants in Matthews and Charlotte.

Chicken Salad Chick franchise owners Shane and Haley Pinder will own and operate the Wilmington restaurant.

Haley said: “We’ve lived in Wilmington for a little over a year and one thing we’ve quickly learned is that the residents love chicken salad.

“Savory, sweet or spicy, the city loves them all and we’re thrilled to fuel that obsession with Chicken Salad Chick’s made-from-scratch flavours.

In addition, Chicken Salad Chick has opened a new restaurant in Edmond, Oklahoma expanding its presence to three locations in the state.

Located at 2404 East 2nd Street, the first Edmond restaurant features a drive-thru location for customers.

Established in 2008, Chicken Salad offers more than 12 varieties of chicken salad along with side salads, gourmet soups, sandwiches and desserts to customers.

The company currently operates more than 135 restaurants in 16 US states.

In July this year, the fast-casual chain opened a new restaurant at 687 Worthington Road in Westerville, Ohio.
