Chicken Salad Chick has signed franchise agreements to open nearly 20 new restaurants over the next five years in the US state of Texas, specifically across the areas of Austin, Dallas and San Antonio.

In the past year, the restaurant brand has signed two agreements in Texas. The first covers eight new outlets in San Antonio, and the second is for eight new restaurants in Austin.

Chicken Salad Chick plans to open five new restaurants in the state this year as part of its goal to open 50 new outlets across the country by the end of 2022.

The brand currently operates 21 outlets across Texas, in Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston.

The Austin agreement was signed with restaurant and franchise veterans Austin Young and Sara Ingram, who are currently developing two restaurants in Temple and Killeen, also in Texas.

The duo plans to open eight restaurant units in Austin over the next three years.

Young said: “Austin is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and we’re very excited to introduce the brand to such a booming market.

“As a young business owner, Chicken Salad Chick has been so welcoming and supportive – with great core values in both operations and customer services on top of its quality menu offerings.

“This eight-unit deal was a natural next step in our career with the brand because we get to be on the ground floor of a fast-growing, fan-favourite concept.”

For the San Antonio development, Chicken Salad Chick reached an agreement with OberRoc, a franchise company created by James Oberg, Jeff Rochelle and George Shaw.

The first of the eight planned locations in San Antonio is expected to open by the end of the year, while the second is planned to open in the second quarter of 2023.

The company has also signed deals with established Chicken Salad Chick franchise groups Hazel 5 Ventures and Metroplex CSC for expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

These latest franchise agreements are part of the restaurant chain’s target to open 500 restaurants by 2025.

Chicken Salad Chick CEO Scott Deviney said: “As our brand awareness and guest loyalty continue to increase, we are seeing a demand in franchise opportunities throughout the state.

“It is exciting to see Chicken Salad Chick’s southern expansion in action. We’re more than humbled to support our franchisees as they continue to thrive in markets across Texas, and look forward to seeing how communities across the state respond to the product.”
