Hero Brands’ franchise German fast-casual chain Choppaluna is set to open its first flagship store at Bloomsbury in London this October.

According to Choppaluna co-founder and CEO Nikras Agha, the company has signed 12 franchise agreements and is in the process of adding 60 more to the pipeline.

The chain expects to expand its store portfolio in the UK to 300 stores in the next ten years.

Agha added: “We are bringing a new experience for UK consumers, landing in the healthy-eating space and taking it to the next level through our great-tasting product range.

“Our ambition is to open our first flagship store in Bloomsbury, London, and then roll-out our expansion in key cities across the UK, including Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

“The opportunity is truly resonating with the business community and we are actively developing multi-franchise partnerships as we maintain a focus of identifying and securing prominent new sites across the country.”

Agha said that the Hero Brands team has played an important role in laying the foundations for its UK growth plans.

Hero Brands CEO Athif Sarwar said: “Eating-out is changing and younger consumers are demanding a shorter dwell time, great-tasting healthier food and an aspirational-experience that is shareable on their social channels.

“We are very much looking forward to launching in Bloomsbury, bringing co-founders Nikras and Bijan Azadfard the unrivalled expertise and the financial backing to truly launch and grow the Choppaluna brand throughout the UK.”

Established in Berlin as ‘Salaid’ brand, Choppaluna offers a range of healthy menu choices such as chopped salads, smoothie bowls and choprolls along with more than 60 fresh toppings to customers.

Hero Brands works with various restaurant brands to assist them in expanding their business.

In May, the company’s fast-casual brand German Doner Kebab (GDK) announced plans to expand its business with an investment of more than £6m in the UK.
