The new outlet is located within the Sheraton Hotel in Escazú.
It was established through a franchise agreement with Alimentos Exclusivos, a restaurant operator active in Costa Rica, El Salvador and Colombia.
Alimentos Exclusivos founder and CEO Jozsef Arguedas said: “We are proud to partner with Fogo and bring its distinctive menu and innovative dining experience to Costa Rica for the first time.
“We look forward to introducing our guests to the tradition of Brazilian churrasco and creating a destination for memorable meals and gatherings.”
At the new Escazú location, guests can access Fogo’s Market Table, which features seasonal salads, charcuterie, exotic fruits and superfoods.
The restaurant also offers Bar Fogo, serving handcrafted cocktails alongside a selection of South American wines.
Fogo de Chão CEO Barry McGowan said: “Costa Rica represents an exciting opportunity for Fogo as we continue to grow our brand and share the tradition of churrasco with more guests around the world.
“We are excited to partner with Jozsef Arguedas and the Alimentos Exclusivos team, who have built an impressive track record of bringing globally recognized brands to new communities.
“We look forward to welcoming Costa Rican guests and creating memorable experiences around the fire, food and the hospitality that define Fogo.”
Fogo de Chão has indicated its plans to accelerate expansion this year.
The development pipeline includes new openings in Las Vegas, Nevada; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Peabody, Massachusetts; and Tegucigalpa, Honduras, among other markets.
This year, the restaurant chain also increased its presence in Chile by opening its second location in the country.
